By using our website and booking with Waikonini Homestead, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, and all the terms, conditions, disclaimers and limitations that appear, or are made available to you on our site.

Bookings

If booking accommodation on this website, or Booking.com you authorise Waikonini Homestead to charge your credit card in NZD for the amounts appropriate to your booking, inclusive of local taxes and any associated bank fees, or conversion rates. All bookings at Waikonini Homestead are accepted at our sole discretion and we maintain the right to decline bookings without explanation. Your bank statement will display Waikonini Homestead Ltd and you will be asked to show photo ID that matches the name on the credit card when you arrive.

Payment

Waikonini Homestead accepts online payments and payments made over the phone via Visa and MasterCard. Payments are processed at the time of your online booking. If, for any reason, we’re not able to fulfil your order, your account will be credited, or your credit card will be refunded. We make every effort to protect our customers’ personal information and payment details. All online purchases are processed through our secure payment provider ANZ NZ. A current credit card number with expiry date is required to confirm your reservation.

Accessibility

Waikonini’s guest rooms are upstairs, so the homestead is unsuitable as accommodation for people who require wheelchair access, or lift access.

Resident Pets

Waikonini is home to two dogs and a cat. Please inform your host if you have any concerns with animals, however rest assured our animals are very friendly.

Waikonini Accommodation

Waikonini is a family residence and guests are not permitted access to the kitchen, while the dining room may be used with prior arrangement. Waikonini features 7 twin guest rooms, all of which may be booked at any one time. All of Waikonini’s guests have access to three toilets and two shared bathrooms throughout the homestead, while guests who book The West Room enjoy a private ensuite.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in: 3:00pm – 10:00pm

Checkout: 10:00am

Luggage Storage

We’re more than happy to store luggage should you arrive before, or depart before check–in, or checkout times.

Children

Children are welcome at Waikonini. Please be aware we’re unable to provide extra beds, or cots and all children will be charged $50 per head, per night.

Shared Spaces

All of our guests have shared access to three toilets, a choice of two bathrooms with a shower, or bathtub, a conservatory, and gardens. Please be considerate of other guests and observe our House Rules at all times.

Waikonini Kitchen

Guests are not permitted to use the kitchen, however they may order tea, coffee, or food by request. All guests have access to the BBQ beside the Summer House. BBQ utensils, plates, cutlery, salt and pepper can be supplied to suit your requirements.

Waikonini Meals

Waikonini Homestead is a bed and breakfast with a light morning offering of homemade muesli, Weetbix, porridge, toast with spreads and hot beverages served daily from 7.30am to 9.30am.

Additional meals can be provided on request with advanced notice. Pricing is as follows:

  • Cooked breakfast $15 per person
  • Lunch $23 per person
  • Picnic $23 per person
  • Dinner $50 per adult, $20 per child, $15 for children under 5

All meals are home cooked using locally sourced products and served in the conservatory. Dinner takes place between 6.00pm – 8.00pm each night (other times by request) with wine as an optional add on. Please inform your host, if you have food allergies, or if there’s anything you would prefer not to eat.

House Rules

  • No pets
  • No cooking in bedrooms
  • No smoking in, or around the homestead
  • No spitting
  • No standing on toilets
  • No unsupervised children
  • No parking on the lawn

Please respect Waikonini’s ‘no entry’ areas, be considerate of other guests at all times and respect our quiet hours from 10pm – 7am. Please inform your host if there’s a problem, or if you require assistance. Parties, events and gatherings are only allowed by prior arrangement.

No Smoking

Waikonini Homestead offers guests non-smoking accommodation. Please ask your host about designated smoking areas, should you wish to smoke.

Health & Safety

First Aid is available by request and details for Geraldine’s local doctor are available from your host.

Covid Policy

Waikonini is committed to an enhanced cleaning process to manage covid. In the event of a Covid-19 pandemic, all hosts and guests must follow social-distancing and other COVID-19-related guidelines from the New Zealand Government.

Privacy Policy

Waikonini Homestead respects and honours the privacy of its customers. The company does not pass on personal information to any third parties and information will not be added to any database apart from what is necessary to provide customer service for each of your bookings.

Cancellation Policy

If cancellation is 2 weeks prior to stay, you will receive a full refund minus a $40 booking fee. If cancelled less than 2 weeks prior to your stay, there will be no refund.
* As a Visa or MasterCard cardholder you have 120 calendar days to dispute any transactions made to your account by Waikonini Homestead.
